Cookie Notice

This notice explains what cookies oilgasalert.com sets in your browser and why: an essential login cookie, plus Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies that help us understand how the site is used and measure our advertising.

1. What We Use

• Session cookie — an essential cookie that keeps you logged in after you sign in. Without it, every page reload would log you out. Lifetime: until you sign out, or after a few days of inactivity.

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) — analytics cookies set by Google that count visits, pages viewed and where visitors came from, so we can see which pages are useful. Lifetime: up to 2 years.
• Google Ads (_gcl_* and related) — advertising cookies set by Google that tell us whether a visitor who clicked one of our ads went on to register. Lifetime: up to 90 days.

Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, control ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking these cookies does not affect how the site works.

We do not use Meta Pixel, Mixpanel or fingerprinting techniques.

2. Third-Party Cookies (Limited Cases)

When you click Upgrade to Pro and proceed to checkout, you are redirected to Polar — our payment processor. During checkout, Polar may set its own cookies as part of the payment flow, subject to Polar’s Privacy Policy. These cookies live on polar.sh, not on oilgasalert.com.

Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may set technical cookies for security and performance (e.g., bot mitigation). See Cloudflare’s cookie policy.

3. Managing Cookies

You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy & security → Clear browsing data;
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

Clearing the session cookie will sign you out. The service will not work if you fully block cookies, because we need to know you’re signed in.

4. Do Not Track

We don’t track you across sites, so there is nothing to opt out of. We respect the spirit of the “Do Not Track” signal by default.
