ExxonMobil in Malaysia
In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.
What role you will play in the team

Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Static Equipment Engineer to join our team. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and will work very closely with our global teams.
Provide Static Equipment technical services to operating units, manufacturing plants, capital projects and research and development organizations
Understands basic technical principles of Static Equipment and is able to manage work independently
Partner with senior engineers on technical direction for complex scenarios that require a high level of technical and business line integration

What you will do
We are looking for an experienced individual who will play a key role in the technical decisions we take. Key deliverables include:
Work effectively with partners and contractors in pursuit of efforts on the projects and assets they support.
Participate in vendor meetings that align with the individual's skills and business focus. Participate in other meetings such as joint ventures, partners, industry associations and academia in conjunction with a senior EM representative.
Support project development from concept selection through commissioning and startup and/or all phases of asset operational life through asset sale or decommissioning.
Apply understanding of asset operations, and teamwork, communication and presentation skills to develop and deliver cost effective technical support for routine problems within the individual's core discipline.
With guidance from senior engineers, apply established, adapted, and new technologies to the solution of complex problems encountered by capital projects and operating facilities.
Primary contributions will be at the individual contributor level in skill areas specific to the individual's current and primary job families.
Document completed efforts such that others can leverage their work to enable efficient future similar efforts. Identify opportunities to improve work processes.
Provides technical mentorship to early-career professionals, with emphasis in areas of identified skill gaps.
Participate in internal networks for skill enhancement and for disseminating new or unique knowledge to others.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries.
Broad and extensive knowledge of Static Equipment Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria, including ASME Code Section VIII, Divisions 1 and 2, API 510, API 650, API 620, API 660, API 661, API 653 & EN14015
Knowledgeable of mechanical properties and degradation mechanisms for common materials of construction such as carbon steel, low chrome and nickel alloy steels, austenitic stainless steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steels, and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel.
Design, fabrication & construction experience in Pressure vessels, process columns, reactor, and heat exchangers
Vessel, heat exchanger and storage tank analysis programs such as PV Elite, Compress, Tank, AME Tank etc.
Familiarity with pressure equipment rerate and repair assessments per API 510 and NBIC.
Onshore and offshore facilities design; along with direct experience working onsite in oil & gas facilities.
Participated in Layout Model Reviews, HAZID’s, design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualification, and vendor
