Join us and help shape the future of energy in a dynamic and supportive environment. At Eni, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join Eni Cyprus in Nicosia . You will be responsible for managing the general accounting processes for Eni Cyprus, ensuring the accurate recording and monitoring of costs, and supporting the company’s financial, accounting, budgeting, reporting and tax activities in compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and internal procedures. The role includes preparing monthly financial accounts and statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS, overseeing the cost allocation and warehouse accounting processes, providing support to Joint Venture accounting activities as required, and contributing to the optimisation of the company’s financial performance through effective financial control and reporting. Main responsibilities: Prepare monthly trial balances in accordance with IFRS and Company reporting requirements. Prepare, review and reconcile monthly and quarterly trial balances. Prepare year-end statutory accounts and financial statements. Support the implementation of IAS/IFRS accounting standards within the Company. Prepare monthly reconciliations and accounting schedules for designated accounts, including intercompany accounts. Review financial results, ensuring that all major balances are properly reconciled. Prepare monthly capitalisation and cut-back reports. Maintain and control the fixed asset register and calculate fixed asset depreciation. Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting for the Eni Group. Prepare and organise supporting documentation for external, internal and JV audits. Liaise with and respond to queries from external, internal and JV auditors. Process, monitor and reconcile invoices received from third-party suppliers, affiliated companies and Head Office. Process, monitor and reconcile accruals and prepayments. Maintain and update vendor, customer and general ledger master data as required. Perform various ad hoc accounting duties as required. Perform and oversee the cost allocation process. Perform monthly payroll reconciliations. Manage warehouse accounting in compliance with JOA and EPSC requirements. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual cost recovery statements in compliance with EPSC requirements. Assist in the preparation of monthly billings in compliance with JOA requirements. Ensure compliance with Company Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and standards. Ensure compliance with the Eni Code of Ethics and the principles of Legislative Decree 231/2001. Skills and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Significant proven accounting experience. Knowledge of local and international accounting standards, regulations and IFRS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with the SAP accounting system will be considered an advantage. Fluent written and spoken Greek and English. ACCA, ACA or an equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress) will be considered an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare effective reports. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate and collaborate within a multifunctional and multinational organisation. Ability to integrate effectively into diverse international and local teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environment policies and the ability to promote compliance across the organisation.
