Principal Quantity Surveyor OVERVIEW Project Controls and Commercial Services (PCCS) is the mechanism in which Sellafield Ltd have engaged KBR Ltd to provide Commercial and Project Controls Services to the portfolio of enterprise projects, in addition to the original PPP programme. Those services include the provision of some 150+ Commercial and Project Controls Professionals across the Sellafield Ltd network of Projects. KBR’s rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes. We can only consider applicants with the right to live and work in the United Kingdom PRINCIPAL QUANTITY SURVEYOR The role Lead the team and support the Commercial Manager Management of the commercial project team and ensuring they perform to the required standards and expectations. Ensure contract compliance and co-ordinate that information as advice to Commercial Manager. Manage the commercial project team, ensuring they perform to required standards and expectations Responsible for maintaining standards across the project Recommend appropriate commercial remedies for poor performance Team Development & ensure they have the support needed Accountability for all project internal and external commercial reporting Delivery of internal and external commercial targets Ensures the quality, timeliness and consistency of work produced by the team The active contribution to continuous improvement to ensure quality & performance of Quantity Surveying To work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan & be able to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively The role will require the job holder to lead and manage as part of the commercial team to work on relatively large and complex procurement activities ranging from low value to multi-million-pound contracts. This includes supporting of strategy development, cost & price analysis, negotiation, commercial risk assessment, contract placement, contract management & contract close out. The Principal Quantity Surveyor will be expected to procure & manage multiple framework contracts in addition to bespoke procurements. The role will be expected to provide procurement & pre-contract advice to the SL buying team to aid in effective procurements. Manage complex and routine procurement and supply chain management activities supporting strategy development, price analysis, negotiation and contract placement, management and close out within frameworks in order to contribute to the successful performance or programmes and/or projects and to support the achievement of Sellafield Ltd business objectives. Essential skills and experience Experience in the nuclear industry or other regulated industry preferred Strong character and be detail orientated Have strong NEC Contract Experience Be able to manage the delivery of internal and external commercial targets The role requires a broad and detailed knowledge of category management, procurement processes and wider commercial issues.
