Job Purpose
The
Welder Level 2 plays a crucial role in fabricating, assembling, and welding components
used in the oil and gas industry. This position requires a skilled individual
with a strong background in welding techniques, precision work, and adherence
to safety protocols.
Roles & Responsibilities

OPERATIONS
·
Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including MIG,
TIG, and Stick welding, to join and fabricate metal components according to
engineering specifications.
·
Interpret and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and
welding symbols to ensure accurate and precise execution of welding projects.
·
Conduct inspections of welded joints and structures to verify
conformance to quality standards and specifications.
·
Operate and maintain welding equipment, including routine
inspections, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs as needed.
·
Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members
to ensure effective communication and successful completion of projects.
·
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to create a safe
working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
(PPE).
·
Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency
and prevent safety hazards.
·
Monitor and control consumables inventory related to welding
activities.
·
Participate in training sessions and stay informed about
advancements in welding technology and techniques.
COMMUNICATION
·
Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders
both internal and where appropriate external
·
Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate
expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
FINANCIAL
·
All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be
financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or
simply their own expenses
·
Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed
within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and
procedure

Experience & Education
REQUIRED
·
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational
training in welding is preferred.
·
Proven experience at least 3 years as a Welder Level 2 in an oil
and gas machine shop or related industry.

Abilities
REQUIRED
·
Certification in welding techniques such as AWS or equivalent.

Proficient in various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and
