Job Description: • We are seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Management Advisor for providing increasingly critical technical expertise on all SAM Processes and Platform in our scope. • Their primary focus will be on providing technical guidance to both the Teams (Product & Operations Team) to ensure seamless integration and support is provided across the organization. They will also guide Teams to perform Service Now break-fix activities using global consistent methodologies and tools.• In addition, they will act as an expert in SAM area to provide high-quality advice to internal stakeholders and SAM engineers in improving the existing process and making it more robust. • With the SAAS Application getting added to SAM scope, they will help adapting the SAM program to address the new and varied challenges presented by cloud architecture 2.Job Responsibilities : • Development & Customization: o Their expertise will be crucial in ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements and optimizing our software licensing strategies. o Identify and resolve discrepancies in software asset records. o Configure and customize SAM modules on the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements. o Develop workflows, dashboards, and reports to optimize software asset management processes. o Implement integrations with other IT systems to streamline software asset management. • Process Improvement: o Govern and Manage software asset management processes, including analytics of contracts, usage, and deployment data. o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions for SAM processes. o Identify areas for process improvement within software asset management and recommend enhancements. o Ensure alignment of SAM processes with industry best practices and compliance standards. • Documentation & Reporting: o Create and maintain documentation for SAM processes, customizations, and configurations. o Generate regular reports on software usage, license compliance, and cost savings. o Lead external vendor audit defense engagement, devising strategy and communicating with stakeholders. • Collaboration: o Work closely with IT, procurement, and legal teams to ensure accurate and compliant software license management. o Responsible for maintaining awareness of relevant technical and product trends through self-learning, training classes, and job shadowing. o Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators and developers to integrate SAM with other ITSM modules. 3.Primary skill set • Individuals need to possess a strong background in information technology, combined with expertise in asset management principles and practices. • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as information technology, computer science, or business administration is often a minimum requirement. • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of various IT assets, software licensing models, and industry best practices are essential. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail, are necessary for accurately managing and reconciling complex asset inventories. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also crucial, as IT Asset Managers often collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. 4.Certification • Additionally, certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) can demonstrate a candidate’s knowledge and commitment to the field. 5.Soft skill sets : • Strong Communication and presentation Skills Job Group Capability Procurement Job Group Managed Service Provider (MSP) Vendor Management Job Role Description Responsible for supporting oversight and serving as a point of contact for assigned vendors, while assisting in building and maintaining relationships with internal customers, procurement, and vendors to support business benefits and minimize value leakage.
