What role you will play in our team
We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for our Bengaluru, India location to work on challenging petrophysical problems in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of formation evaluation specialists and operations geologists based in Houston, USA.
You will conduct applied project work using well logs, core data, and well test data, leveraging a variety of software platforms for petrophysical data processing and interpretation.
The ideal candidate can independently handle all types of petrophysical log data and integrate complex analyses into robust interpretation workflows.
What you will do
Define project objectives, work scopes, and deliverables in collaboration with ExxonMobil’s Formation Evaluation group in Houston and relevant Business Units.
Contribute to all stages of petrophysical project work, including data preparation, preprocessing, filtering/augmentation, environmental corrections, calibration and interpretation
Provide real time operational support during drilling and completion activities, ensuring accurate and timely petrophysical interpretations to guide operational decisions.
Conduct model based petrophysical analyses to evaluate reservoir properties and fluid distributions across the field lifecycle.
Proactively develop new and innovative approaches to enhance the efficiency of multi well workflows.
Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and other disciplines—as well as Business Units—to ensure accurate and integrated petrophysical interpretations across conventional, unconventional, and CCS reservoirs.
Perform log QA/QC, rock physics modeling, fluid substitution to support seismic studies as needed.
Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver, and support petrophysical software tools, models, algorithms, and workflows across multiple projects globally.
About you
Skills and qualifications:
Master’s degree (or equivalent/ higher) with a minimum GPA of 6.5 or equivalent from a recognized university in Geology, Geophysics, Physics or related Earth Science disciplines.
Minimum 2 years of industry experience in hands on petrophysical/formation evaluation analysis supporting upstream oil and gas operations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary global teams and take ownership of deliverables.
Hands on experience across various stages of the field lifecycle in conventional and unconvention
