Senior Mep Project Engineer

Senior Project Engineer (Data Center Construction) 📍 San Antonio Area, Texas We're seeking a Senior MEP Project Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale data center construction project in the San Antonio area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly technical project team responsible for overseeing the construction process from preconstruction through commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background with experience across CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) and/or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) scopes. Data center experience is preferred but candidates from commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, mission-critical, or other complex construction environments are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation. Coordinate project activities with contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders. Support project scheduling, forecasting, budget tracking, and contractor billing reviews. Track procurement activities, long-lead materials, and OFCI/CFCI equipment. Support commissioning, startup, testing, and project closeout activities. Participate in QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements. Facilitate design reviews and construction coordination meetings. Support site safety initiatives and collaborate with project teams to drive successful project delivery. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. 3+ years of Project Engineer experience on construction projects; 5+ years preferred. Experience managing or supporting CSA and/or MEP construction scopes . Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, procurement, and project controls. Experience with complex construction projects. Data center experience is preferred but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6. Desired Skills Knowledge of critical power and cooling infrastructure. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience working with contractors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams.
