Decommissioning Engineer

Job Title: Decommissioning Engineer Duration: 1-year Schedule: 5/40 Location: Spring, TX This opportunity is with a major operator in the refinery and chemical complex sector, supporting end of field life planning and scope development for EOR assets. The role offers broad technical exposure across decommissioning planning, ARO development, ABEX budget planning, and project gate deliverables, while working closely with wells, operations, environmental, regulatory, legal, land, commercial, and finance stakeholders. This position is well suited to professionals looking to contribute to complex oil and gas projects requiring strong cross-functional coordination, technical judgement, and budget and schedule accountability. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field Required Experience: 5–10 years of oil and gas experience with a focus on facilities or upstream unconventional environments Experience supporting end of field life planning and development activities Experience working across project stages and supporting compliance with company standards and processes Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary stakeholders across wells, operations, environmental, regulatory, legal, land, commercial, and finance functions Required Skills: Ability to support End of Field Life Planning optimisation, including ARO development and updates Capability to support annual ABEX budget development and planning Ability to lead development of ABEX project gate deliverables where appropriate Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects simultaneously Accountability for overall budget and schedule Preferred Qualifications: Onshore decommissioning planning or execution experience About Airswift: Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
