Global Transformation PMO Lead
N.B. – this is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract position
The Global Transformation PMO Lead will act as the global programme integration and governance lead for a specific transformation programme. You will provide one source of truth across operating model, process and service design, organisation and governance, technology and data, change, transition and value workstreams. The role will be supported by BTC PMO capability, Technology PMO capability and third party transformation capability as needed.
You will translate the transformation strategy into an integrated roadmap, governance cadence and decision framework; manage-milestones, critical-path dependencies, risks, issues, resources, financials and value reporting; and provide decision-ready insight to programme leadership. You are acting as the deputy global transformation lead to secure delivery, managing forwards to understand and solve emerging risks and issues, acting as global programme lead when the SPA is unavailable.
This role will lead the tracking and performance management of value delivery, partnering with Finance to uncover opportunities to pull-forward value without risking safety or programme delivery.
You will be a key interface for 3rd party transformation delivery partners, supporting the commercial management and governance of programme spend and scope, partnering to deliver the best outcomes for bp.
What you will deliver
- Establish and operate the global PMO framework. To include governance structures, delivery standards, planning and reporting methods, templates, controls, meeting cadence and clear accountabilities.
- Build and maintain the global integrated transformation roadmap and master plan. Track progress, owners, critical path, dependencies, stage gates, acceptance criteria and sequencing from design through knowledge transfer, service-readiness testing and launch.
- Design and lead the programme governance cadence. This includes workstream reviews, cross-functional forums and executive steering meetings; prepare decision-ready packs, agendas and minutes, and maintain action, decision and accountability logs to drive timely closure.
- Lead programme-level risk, issue, assumption, dependency and change control processes, proactively surfacing emerging constraints, coordinating mitigation and corrective actions, and calling out blockers or decisions that could affect delivery, value, safety, business continuity or market readiness.
- Own the consolidated programme dashboard and reporting cycle, providing a reliable view of delivery status, performance, critical dependencies, decisions, financials, resources, value, change readiness and implementation health for programme and senior leadership.
- Coordinate financial stewardship and value tracking with Finance and value leads. Maintain alignment between the programme plan, approved business-case, budgets, forecasts, transformation investments, quick wins and benefits-realisation measures.
- Promote visibility of programme resource demand, capacity and allocation. Support prioritisation and sequencing decisions, identify resourcing constraints and track agreed actions required to protect delivery and business continuity.
- Coordinate the integrated mobilisation and transition view, bringing together operating model, process, organisation, technology, data, supplier, people and change dependencies required for knowledge transfer, service readiness, cutover, launch and stabilisation.
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience in business, engineering, project or programme management, information systems or a related field.
- Progressive programme, project or PMO experience for a large multi-workstream enterprise or operating model transformations in a global or matrixed organization. Involving changes to processes, organisation, governance, technology, data and ways of working across multiple functions or geographies; shared-services, global-hub or work-transition experience is desirable.
- Practical knowledge of programme governance and controls, including risk, issue, assumption, dependency and change management, decision and action tracking, escalation-management, assurance and delivery-quality reviews.
- Experience with programme financial management, business-case alignment, budget and forecast tracking, resource-capacity visibility and benefits or value-realisation reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel and experience with Power BI or equivalent reporting tools is desirable.
- Proficiency with programme and portfolio management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planview, Jira or equivalent, together with a strong documentation, version-control and data-quality approach.
- Ability to influence across functions, cultures and seniority level. Drive accountability without direct authority and lead PMO resources through ambiguity and competing priorities.
- PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent programme or project-management qualification is preferred. Familiarity with Agile, hybrid and waterfall delivery approaches and experience in energy, utilities, industrials, retail operations or another asset-intensive sector are desirable.
You will work with
You will report to the VP, Cost Transformation and work closely with programme leadership; market leaders and subject-matter experts; BTC leadership and teams; Finance, Procurement, People and Culture, Legal, HSSE / OMS, Technology and Data; and external delivery partners.
You will own the integrated programme view, governance infrastructure and delivery-discipline.
