Purpose of Job

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant – Accounts Receivable to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including customer billing, collections, revenue reporting, intercompany accounting, month-end, Half and Year end closure activities, Forecast and Budget process, and complete reports to stakeholders.

This role requires a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict reporting deadlines.

Key Accountabilities

Customer Billing & Revenue Accounting

• Prepare and process monthly Gas, Condensate, Light Oil & Condensate (LOC), Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) and other customer invoices.
• Issue credit notes, interest invoices, and other billing-related documentation.
• Maintain and update revenue and billing models based on commercial information received from stakeholders.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of invoices to customers.

Accounts Receivable & Collections

• Monitor customer accounts and proactively follow up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare weekly trade receivables ageing reports and communicate collection status to key stakeholders.
• Prepare and distribute cash distributions, and notify the UJV Partners.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Perform Budget & Forecast Cycle related to Revenue, Accounts Receivable and Intercompany.
• Perform Half Year End and Year End closure.
• Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and contractual obligations.

Month-End Close & Accounting

• Execute month-end close activities within agreed deadlines and quality standards.
• Prepare and post accounting journals.
• Perform detailed General ledger reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting documentation.
• Perform SOX testing in accordance with Group requirements and deadlines.

Intercompany Accounting & Reporting

• Manage intercompany reconciliations and reporting, ensuring accurate balances, timely issue resolution, and compliance with group reporting requirements.

Formal Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA(SA) or equivalent) will be an advantage.

Working Experience

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable, Financial Accounting, or Revenue Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Sound understanding of the commercial and contractual principles governing Gas and Condensate Production License agreements, including PSA and PPA arrangements.
• Experience working with financial reporting systems (SAP, Onestream and Power BI experience preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
