One of our clients, a major oil and gas company has tasked us with finding a Pipeline Integrity Technologist / Engineer to support the ongoing integrity and reliability of their upstream pipeline assets. This is a 1-year contract working Monday to Friday and is intended for candidates who already reside within approximately two hours of Red Deer, Alberta. The Pipeline Integrity Technologist / Engineer will be responsible for supporting and executing pipeline integrity management programs across a large portfolio of upstream pipeline systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Integrity, and external contractors to ensure pipeline assets remain safe, compliant, reliable, and fit for service. Responsibilities Support and execute pipeline integrity management programs for upstream pipeline assets. Apply risk assessment methodologies to identify, evaluate, and mitigate integrity threats. Review inspection reports, integrity assessments, failure investigations, operating data, and monitoring results to identify degradation mechanisms and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate and oversee corrosion monitoring, corrosion control, and chemical inhibition programs. Support cathodic protection activities for pipelines and associated facilities. Develop integrity-related inspection schedules and assist with annual planning and budgeting activities. Coordinate pipeline maintenance and repair activities while minimizing operational downtime. Maintain and update integrity records, equipment inventories, and associated databases. Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to address integrity concerns and ensure timely execution of corrective actions. Coordinate third-party vendors and contractors to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of integrity-related work. Ensure pipeline systems comply with CSA Z662 and applicable provincial and federal regulatory requirements. Participate in integrity reviews, audits, and discussions with regulatory agencies as required. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to pipeline integrity, corrosion management, and reliability programs. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of oil and gas industry experience with a strong focus on pipeline integrity, pipeline operations, or pipeline maintenance. Demonstrated experience supporting pipeline inspection, integrity assessment, corrosion management, or maintenance programs. Working knowledge of CSA Z662 and applicable provincial and federal pipeline regulations. Experience coordinating pipeline maintenance, repairs, and integrity-related field activities. Understanding of corrosion mechanisms, mitigation strategies, cathodic protection, and integrity monitoring practices. Experience reviewing and interpreting pipeline inspection and integrity data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and integrity management systems such as Accumap, Maxi-Trak, Abacus, Maximo, or similar platforms. NACE/AMPP training, API certifications, or related integrity certifications are considered assets. Technical diploma or engineering degree in a related discipline is preferred. Valid Class 5 Driver's License required. Preferred Background Upstream oil and gas experience. Pipeline-focused integrity experience rather than facility or fixed equipment integrity. Experience working directly with field operations teams. Ability to manage multiple integrity initiatives in a fast-paced operational environment.
