about the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join the Mechanical Design team. Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Lead - Static Equipment, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical design engineering and associated technical support for Chevron.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key responsibilities
Develop and prepare piping layouts, plot plans, and equipment arrangements in accordance with facility specifications and industry standards.
Perform
piping layouts for safety,
operability, accessibility
,
maintainability, and constructability.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering
standards, company specifications, and industry
codes (
B31.3, ASME
B31.8,
API,
ISO, BS)
Conduct management of
change (MOC).
Ensure piping design
comply
with
P&IDs, process
requirements
and facility specifications
.
Conduct 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews with stakeholders, and resolve comments.
Prepare and review general arrangement (GA) drawings, isometrics, and piping layout drawings.
Provide technical
oversight for piping general valves
related to design,
selection
and testing.
Prepare and review
MRs,
valve datasheets, specifications, material
selection
, valve
sizing
and pressure-temperature
ratings.
Ensure compliance with API 6D, API 600, API
602, API 608, API 609, API 598, ASME B16.34
and
other
specific standards.
Review and approve
valve inspection and test
plans (ITPs), quality document
s,
c
ertificates
and manufacturing records.
Review
FAT, hydrostatic shell tests, seat leakage tests
etc.
Timely resolution of technical and procurement queries.
Coordinate with
suppliers,
operations, construction,
inspection
and commissioning
teams.
Perform 3D modelling of piping systems using tools such as AVEVA E3D/PDMS and Smart Plant 3D.
Ensure piping design complies with P&IDs, process requirements, safety standards, and client specifications; conduct piping routing studies considering operability, maintainability, accessibility, and constructability.
Conduct 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews with stakeholders, and resolve comments.
Prepare and review general arrangement (GA) drawings, isometrics, and piping layout drawings.
Perform quality checks of deliverables.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
Experience in piping layout and plant design for LNG, oil & gas refineries and petrochemicals.
Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping general valves, cryogenic valves, piping materials, equipment layout, nozzle orientation, pipe routing, pipe supports and industry codes.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving design, constructability, and interface challenges.
Experience delivering brownfield modifications, tie-ins, and upgrades within LNG or hydrocarbon facilities.
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and engaging with stakeholders.
Added advantage if proficient with AVEVA E3D program.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in facilities engineering
