What role you will play in our team The Sustainability Specialist will play a critical role in leading advanced environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, and ESG performance initiatives across ExxonMobil’s global operations. This position requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence decision-making. The Specialist will manage complex reporting processes, ensure regulatory compliance, drive digital transformation in sustainability data systems, and provide actionable insights to enhance environmental performance. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve corporate sustainability objectives. What you will do 1. Environmental Reporting & Compliance Leadership Lead preparation and submission of complex environmental reports for programs such as DMR, TSCA, TRI, and GHG. Oversee quarterly and annual emissions reporting, including flaring, water, and air compliance. Conduct advanced compliance reviews, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions for CEMS and flaring systems. Ensure robust tracking and reconciliation of fuel, flare, and vent source activities for emissions assurance. 2. Data Analytics & Quality Governance Design and implement advanced data validation frameworks and quality control processes. Utilize advanced analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) to deliver actionable insights. Develop and maintain automated dashboards and reporting tools for sustainability KPIs. 3. Regulatory & Framework Expertise Interpret and apply complex U.S. federal and provincial environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, GHGRP, NSR). Ensure alignment with global sustainability frameworks (GRI, CDP, SASB, BRSR, TCFD) and emerging ESG disclosure requirements. Provide strategic guidance on regulatory changes and their implications for business operations. 4. Digital Enablement & Innovation Lead initiatives to automate reporting workflows and integrate advanced digital solutions. Partner with IT and data engineering teams to enhance sustainability data systems and analytics capabilities. Drive innovation in emissions benchmarking and predictive analytics for environmental performance. 5. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Act as a key advisor to site leadership and global sustainability teams. Communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Mentor and coach junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. About you Skills and Qualifications 1- Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in environmental,Sustainability, Engineering, or related field from a reputed institution. 2- Experience: Minimum 8 years in sustainability reporting, environmental compliance, or ESG strategy, with demonstrated leadership in complex projects. 3-Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, data modeling) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau). Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks. Experience with environmental data platforms (e.g., Enablon, GaBi, SimaPro). 4- Core Competencies: Strategic thinking and problem-solving in sustainability contexts. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making. Preferred Qualifications/ Experience Expertise in ESG reporting and assurance processes. Familiarity with lifecycle assessment (LCA) and carbon accounting methodologies. Experience in digital transformation projects related to sustainability data. Professional certifications (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, GRI Certified, SASB FSA Credential).
