Fuel your passion We are a global manufacturer of high-performance gears and gearboxes for large vessels. As part of our strategy, we are expanding our presence in Europe. To support this, we are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager who will take ownership of building and developing the European market for our marine gear and gearbox portfolio. As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will identify, develop, and execute strategic growth opportunities across the European naval and military marine market. You will leverage your market expertise, technical understanding, and industry network to shape commercial strategy, develop new business opportunities, and position Baker Hughes as a trusted partner for marine gear and gearbox solutions. Working closely with sales, engineering, product management, and executive leadership, you will drive sustainable long-term growth across the region. This is a highly strategic role focused on expanding Baker Hughes' presence within the naval and military marine sector. The successful candidate will leverage deep industry expertise, extensive market knowledge, and established relationships across naval shipyards, shipbuilders, propulsion OEMs, engine manufacturers, defense contractors, and maritime stakeholders to identify opportunities and drive long-term growth. As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible within Europe for: Developing and leading market, customer, and policy analysis, engagement, and strategy to create growth for Baker Hughes products, services & businesses. Developing strategy for existing product & service portfolio as well as new business models for white space, new technologies and emerging areas. Engaging across function, team and business & support new business incubation. Advising management in the function and/or in the business. Having a supportive role in decision making about important subjects. Handling communication with colleagues and business leaders about change of policy and implementation. Acting frequently as a project leader in projects involving the business and other functions. Projects have a long-term horizon (2- 3 years). Results will be visible after at least 2 years. Identifying and developing strategic growth opportunities across naval and military marine programs within Europe. Building and maintaining strong relationships with naval shipyards, shipbuilders, propulsion OEMs, engine manufacturers, system integrators, and defense maritime stakeholders. Providing market intelligence on industry trends, competitor activity, procurement cycles, and emerging naval technologies to support business planning and investment decisions. To be successful in this role you will: Have significant experience within the naval, military marine, marine propulsion, or defense maritime sectors, with strong knowledge of naval shipyards, shipbuilders, propulsion systems, and engine manufacturers. Have experience in Strategy and Growth Initiatives. Have strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Bring demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Possess established relationships across naval shipyards, shipbuilders, propulsion OEMs, engine manufacturers, defense contractors, and key maritime stakeholders. Bring demonstrated understanding of marine propulsion systems, gearbox technology, mechanical power transmission systems, marine gears, or related equipment used in naval vessel applications. Experience gained within naval or military marine markets is strongly preferred. Commercial marine experience alone may not provide the depth of market knowledge required for this position.
