Shanghai, China Job Family Group: Information Technology (IT) Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: June 3, 2026 Business Unit: Projects and Technology Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: What’s the role This role will deliver strategic projects aligned with Lubricants China’s digital transformation and operational excellence goals. Lead medium-to-large projects of moderate-to-high complexity within the Lubricants China portfolio and, if needed, at corporate level, ensuring delivery of business value through disciplined project management and stakeholder engagement. What you’ll be doing Plan, execute, monitor, and close projects across Lubricants China’s landscape (e.g., Sales Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Operation). Manage scope rigorously through structured change processes. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans; ensure clear communication across regional and global teams. Create and validate financial forecasts; track resource utilization. Identify and mitigate risks proactively; escalate issues promptly. Ensure compliance with Shell Project Delivery Framework and governance standards. Offer strong leadership to both the internal team and external vendors, mentor junior staff members, and take necessary action when performance falls outside of agreed limits. What you bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. 8+ years in project management with exposure to complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Proven experience in managing sizeable teams (Typical project size: 10-20 FTE) and large budgets (>$2m). Strong skills in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Leadership of interdependent and virtual teams deliver results through others. Comprehensive end-to-end delivery expertise encompassing RFI/RFP processes, project scoping, team formation, requirements definition, design, build, and transition to support. Virtual team management experience as well as global partnership experience. PMI/PMP certification preferred. Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to work in a matrix organization. Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Strong collaboration mindset. Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results. Commitment to Shell’s safety, ethics, and inclusion principles.
