Title: DLA: Warehouse Specialist (Contingency Hire) Job Summary The Warehouse Specialist supports the Distribution Center’s mission to execute efficient and effective logistics operations including receiving, storage, inventory, packaging, COSIS, stock control, issue processing, packing, shipping, and distribution of contingency materials for both DLA wholesale and Army SSA retail operations. This role involves hands-on warehousing duties aligned with the facility’s storage plan and operational procedures. Roles and Responsibilities Verify materials against receiving documents and report discrepancies or damages. Route materials to designated storage locations. Store, stack, or palletize materials using prescribed methods. Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials. Examine stored items and report deterioration or damage. Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment. Operate hand or power trucks to perform warehousing tasks. Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other Government Data Systems. Resolve common error conditions and respond to system instructions. Follow standard operating procedures for all warehousing activities. Note: This role excludes duties primarily focused on shipping/receiving (Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (Order Filler), or forklift operation (Forklift Operator). Basic Qualifications Understanding of warehouse storage plans and logistics operations. Experience using WMS or equivalent systems to manage inventory and transactions. Ability to operate manual and powered material handling equipment. Familiarity with standard warehousing procedures and documentation. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of experience using WMS or equivalent systems within the past five (5) years. Experience in government or military logistics environments. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or damage. Ability to work independently and follow established procedures. KBR — Delivering Solutions, Changing the World.
