What role you will play in our team
As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of delivering both engineering expertise and operational excellence across our database platforms. You will play a critical role in ensuring these technologies are reliable, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
In this role, you’ll proactively support and optimize database environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive the implementation of innovative IT solutions
What you will do
Work in global teams to execute projects on Oracle and SQL database space
Act as Primary Server Manager in SQL, Oracle and MySQL/MariaDB technologies
Ensure that databases are healthy through monitoring tools and pro-actively identify database issues
Ensure standard software components (auditing tools, monitoring agents, configuration scripts) are in place
Ensure high availability (clustering), replication and automatic startup is working as expected
Monitor the server resources (disk space, memory, CPU) and be the focal point for capacity planning (assess server capability for more databases to be created on shared server)
Ensure that backup strategy and standard maintenance jobs are in place
Ensure that database security configuration is in compliance with DBAM standards
Database service account creation, deletion and modification as part of DBMS server installation, configuration and retirement activities.
Provide database access or connection problem analysis and resolution
Assist with maintaining repositories integrity (DDR, CMDB, ADDM)
Be prepared for DR activities involving Critical applications
Advise customers to leverage existing DBAM automation services
About You
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in English (both written and conversational)
Strong experience in SQL Server database operational support (IaaS)
Expertise in administering Oracle databases
Solid knowledge of Oracle Backup & Recovery processes
Advanced querying skills in Microsoft SQL Server
Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases
Hands-on experience developing Microsoft SQL Server databases
Proven ability to design database solutions for SQL Server
Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS database offerings (PaaS)
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS Cloud fundamentals
Ability to work effectively in Agile teams
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and coordination skills
Customer-focused mindset with a service-oriented approach
Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Basic understanding of storage and networking concepts
Relevant certifications in AWS and/or Azure, particularly in database-related areas
