Head of Contract – Major Projects Job Purpose Lead the contract sub-team responsible for managing a multi-billion-dollar EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) contract and contribute to the safe delivery of the project on schedule and within budget. In addition, work collaboratively with SUPPLY to: Create a Major Projects Contract Center of Expertise. Capture lessons learned from shareholders and industry best practices. Build a strong Supply, Contract, and Procurement talent pool supporting the Major Projects vision. Support digital transformation initiatives across Major Projects. Job Context & Major Challenges The role operates within a highly demanding project environment and requires the ability to: Support the execution of a Mega LNG Capital Project within a dynamic business environment. Work effectively in a multicultural and multinational workplace while maintaining professional conduct and proper office protocol. Perform under significant time pressure and demanding delivery schedules. Negotiate with multiple parties to protect and maximize company interests. Drive and contribute to the implementation of best-in-class contract management and project execution standards across the industry. Key Job Accountabilities Contract Leadership & Value Protection Commercial and Contracting Leadership Provide commercial and contracting direction related to all aspects of post-award EPCC contract management through contract close-out, including: Managing contract execution activities. Delivering the Value Protection Plan. Leading the change order management process. Ensuring optimum value delivery for company and its shareholders. Claims & Dispute Management Work closely with SUPPLY to: Provide expertise in claims prevention. Support dispute avoidance strategies. Facilitate dispute resolution. Ensure compliance with company governance requirements. Stakeholder Coordination & Risk Mitigation Maintain effective relationships with: Management personnel Functional Managers Legal teams Risk Management teams To: Share critical contract information. Resolve contractual issues. Develop mitigation strategies. Contract Management Strategy Development, Develop and implement: Post-award contract management strategies. Commercial management scenarios. Contract execution approaches for the overall Onshore project. Contract Close-Out Management Coordinate and oversee: Contract evaluations. End-of-contract reviews. Contract close-out activities. Ensure all activities comply with applicable company procedures. Project Execution Excellence Operate effectively within a highly visible project environment characterised by: Large capital expenditures. Significant schedule pressures. High expectations for flawless execution. Demonstrate: Accuracy Initiative Multi-tasking capability While supporting project performance in: Safety Quality Cost Schedule EPC Contractor Interface Management Provide central coordination for: Contractual communications. Responses to EPC contractors. Cross-project contractual alignment. Ensure consistency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Claims Assessment & Executive Reporting Support the Onshore Contracts Division Manager and Business Manager by: Managing claims-related activities. Evaluating contractual risks and exposures. Preparing reports and presentation materials. Conducting in-depth assessments. Delivering actionable analysis for the Major Projects organization. Digital Transformation & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with Project Managers to: Accelerate short-term improvement initiatives (Quick Wins). Drive medium-term improvement projects. Support the Major Projects digital strategy. Help deliver world-class, predictable mega-project execution. Talent Development & Workforce Excellence Collaborate with SUPPLY to: Recruit high caliber professionals. Retain world class talent. Develop future contract management capabilities. Support the growth of Qatari talent. (MUST HAVE) Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Law Engineering Minimum Experience Requirements Applicants must possess: Minimum 10 years of experience in post-award contract management on multi billion dollar Lump Sum Major Energy Projects. Proven experience in a similar leadership position.
