We currently have an opportunity for a
Head of Marine
role. This position is based in Qatar onshore.

Minimum requirements
Previous experience in Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) or marine assurance.
Previous experience supporting EPCI offshore projects (installation, construction, heavy lift, transportation and installation, hook-up & commissioning).
Previous experience with an IOC (International Oil Company), major EPC contractor, or large offshore operator.
Demonstrated experience managing marine operations for multiple offshore construction vessels simultaneously.
Strong working knowledge of DP operations, towage, heavy transport, and offshore marine risk management.
Previous experience in Middle East offshore projects is an advantage.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging clients, contractors, classification societies, and marine assurance teams.
Able to provide technical leadership, challenge contractors constructively, and make sound operational decisions under schedule and commercial pressure.
Responsible for marine safety, quality assurance and compliance for NFPS Compression projects marine scope in accordance with the LNG company PGO-OFF-LGSOVR-002 Marine Operations Procedures (MOP) and further revisions, international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations. Consistently guide and coordinate the work of the project marine leads and coordinators assigned to the individual NFPS Compression projects.
NFPS Compression projects focal point and custodian of the marine safety and quality assurance activities for all marine units engaged on the projects and manages marine assurance processes across NFPS Compression projects including vessel suitability assessments, marine assurance inspections and audits (e.g. OVID), marine warranty surveys, DP assurance. Ensure that Contractor personnel and Company Teams are qualified, trained and with suitable level of experience and expertise with respect to marine activities.
Managing active interfaces and engagements with OPCO Marine, and NFPS Compression PMTs to ensure the marine scope is executed consistently, effectively and efficiently to achieve project objectives.
Establish effective communication and strategic connection among critical project stakeholders including EPC and Marine Contractors to identify and implement solutions in a timely manner. Facilitate and support resolution-oriented communication among marine stakeholders including EPC and Marine Contractors, vessels owners, contractors and third parties.
Implement and maintain an efficient Marine Incident Reporting System, support root causes analysis and corrective action identification and implementation, lead critical marine incident investigations (as marine SME), attend offshore survey/inspections and marine audits as needed.

Qualification
Bachelorâs degree in sciences, marine disciplines, or engineering or Marine First Class Certificate of Competency

Knowledge and experience
10 years seagoing experience as a shipboard engineer or sea officer, including 2 years as Chief Engineer or Master
Experienced in handling/managing offshore marine units operating in the oil and gas industry. Broad and extensive knowledge of critical marine operations including offshore installation and construction vessels and barges, heavy lifts, transportation, pipe and cable lay, jack-up accommodation barges, dive support vessels.
Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Systems & Operations, DP FMEA Analysis, DP FMEA Proving Trials, Annual DP Trials, ASOG/CAM.
Experienced in managing marine safety and quality assurance & compliance processes, following corporate requirements and international standards.
High knowledgeable in International Maritime Regulations, Codes and Standards.
Experience within the Middle East region is advantageous.
Previous Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) and Marine Consultancy experience is advantageous.
International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) accreditation & certification is preferred.
Local and international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code).
