Lead Planner
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Planner to join a major mining operation, playing a key role in both project delivery and long-term strategic planning.
This is a unique position that combines hands-on project scheduling with high-level program planning, working closely with senior leadership to develop the systems and governance required to support future mine closure readiness. This role is FIFO and can work on a flexible roster, depending on location.
The Role
Reporting into the Program Manager, you'll be responsible for leading planning and scheduling activities across a diverse portfolio of work while helping shape the long-term planning framework for the business. You'll work across multiple business functions, engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure integrated planning, governance and project delivery outcomes.
Develop, maintain and optimise project schedules across multiple workstreams.
Partner with the Program Manager to develop strategic, long-term plans supporting mine closure readiness.
Establish planning governance, processes, standards and artefacts where they do not currently exist.
Integrate planning activities across operational, technical and corporate business streams.
Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Facilitate planning workshops and coordinate input from key stakeholders.
Produce high-quality planning reports, dashboards and schedule updates for leadership.
Drive continuous improvement across planning methodologies and governance frameworks.
About You
You'll be an experienced planner who is equally comfortable building detailed schedules as you are contributing to strategic planning discussions.
Significant experience in project planning and scheduling within mining, resources or heavy industry.
Experience working on Mine Closure required
Strong proficiency with planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Experience developing planning governance, frameworks and project controls processes.
The ability to think strategically while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across multiple business functions.
A proactive approach with the confidence to build new processes from the ground up.
