Operations & G&G Intern â Offshore Drilling Support
Windhoek, Namibia | 2-Month Paid Internship
Based in Windhoek, Namibia, this two-month internship provides valuable exposure to offshore drilling operations and geoscience data acquisition activities. Working alongside experienced Operations Engineers and G&G Advisors, you will gain practical insight into how drilling and subsurface teams collaborate to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality offshore wells.
This internship is designed to provide hands-on learning in a dynamic and safety-focused environment while developing technical, analytical, and operational skills applicable to a career in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
Support drilling operations and geological/geophysical data acquisition activities.
Assist with operational reporting, data management, and performance tracking.
Help monitor and maintain operational documentation and records.
Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and operational updates.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support project objectives.
Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification initiatives, and HSE activities.
Adhere to Operational Excellence (OE) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards at all times.
Required Skills & Competencies
Basic understanding of drilling operations and geological data acquisition.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational discipline.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with industry software such as WellView.
Knowledge of Logging While Drilling (LWD), mudlogging, and wireline operations.
Interest in geological and geophysical data interpretation.
Experience supporting KPI reporting and operational performance tracking.
Exposure to offshore or deepwater drilling environments.
Education Requirements Applicants should be:
Final-year university students; or
Recent graduates with a degree in:
Geology
Geophysics
Earth Sciences
Geosciences
Petroleum Engineering
Or a related discipline
Experience
0â5 years of relevant experience.
Internship, co-op, research, or entry-level industry experience will be advantageous.
Additional Requirements
Must be legally entitled to work in Namibia.
Must be available to work onsite in Windhoek for the full two-month internship period.
Successful candidates may be required to complete a medical fitness assessment.
