Job Description
Job Purpose
Ensure that all applicable continuing airworthiness requirements, with regard to the QCAA-approved CAMO, are reviewed and implemented.
Review reliability alerts related to aircraft systems, components, or aircraft dispatch; analyse issues, identify solutions, and propose implementation plans to maintain optimum levels of reliability and cost.
Assist Maintenance sections and other internal and external customers in resolving technical queries and repetitive defects. Initiate and process deviations to certified aircraft configuration or approved maintenance data.
Accountabilities
Operational
Evaluate Airworthiness and other Service Documentation (AD/CN/SB/SIL/OIT/AOT/VSB/TFU/FTD) issued by airworthiness authorities, aircraft manufacturers, or vendors, and take necessary action in a timely manner. This may include issuing EO, ESWC, CMA, TN, recommending amendments to technical publications, and supporting the Aircraft Maintenance Program.
Evaluate technical and commercial proposals, retrofit Modification Orders, and Corporate Engineering Change Requests, and make recommendations.
Evaluate, analyse, and develop solutions to problems related to components and systems that exceed alert levels in Reliability Reports. Issue necessary technical documentation and coordinate with relevant in-house departments, vendors, and manufacturers as required to define or implement solutions.
Initiate campaign inspections, modifications, and engine/APU/component shop visits as applicable, and coordinate with all concerned parties to ensure timely accomplishment.
Assist Maintenance in resolving repeated defects and other technical issues, including AOG support, clarification of technical data, and processing deviations to certified configuration or approved data.
Perform technical investigations into TORs/MORs/ASRs and recommend or implement corrective and preventative measures as required.
Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, and internal departments/sections on technical and project issues as required, and assist the Aircraft Program Section in technical matters.
Review industry experience relating to aircraft and components in service and utilise this knowledge to enhance service levels and reliability. Attend conferences, workshops, and meetings as required.
Recommend amendments to the Aircraft Maintenance Program and MEL, in line with airworthiness authority guidelines and Qatar Airways-specific maintenance requirements.
Prepare product specifications and assist the Commercial Department in preparing Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal, and purchase agreement documents for the selection of new components and systems or the upgrade of existing systems.
Review engineering data and drawings for accuracy prior to embodiment.
Evaluate technical specifications of new and used aircraft and equipment for possible induction, and define layouts and specifications to satisfy Qatar Airways and regulatory requirements.
Assist other sections with commercial evaluation and assessment of expenditure, using strong product knowledge and experience to ensure company interests are fully protected.
Perform other departmental duties related to the position as directed by the Head of Department.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Qualifications and Experience
Without a Degree:
Grade 7: High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or equivalent, based on the role, with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
OR
With a Degree:
Grade 7: Bachelorâs Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
Essential
Bachelorâs Degree in Engineering, such as:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
Aeronautical Engineering
or equivalent qualification, or holder of an ICAO Type II Licence.
Job-related experience in an airworthiness, reliability, or technical support engineer role within a Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation for a reputable airline.
Internal candidates: Minimum of 2 years completed in EN.01 with relevant experience.
Preferred
Experience using a Maintenance Information System (MIS) such as TRAX or equivalent.
Job-Specific Skills
Essential
Good knowledge of aircraft systems, power plant, and structures, preferably with training on one or more aircraft types operated by the Company.
