Senior Material Controller

Senior Material Controller Duration: 6-12 month contract Location: Peterhead Rotation: Start date: 20th July 2026 End date: Position Overview Airswift is recruiting for a Senior Material Controller to support a warehouse-based contract in Peterhead. This Senior Material Controller opportunity will suit candidates with strong materials management experience within technically demanding project environments. The Senior Material Controller will play a key role in ensuring materials are controlled efficiently from demand through to issue, consumption and disposal, while supporting compliance with project procedures and schedules. This Senior Material Controller position offers the chance to contribute to a high-standard delivery environment within the energy sector. Role Context This position is based within a warehouse environment in Peterhead and supports brownfield oil and gas project activity. The role sits within a materials-focused project setting where accurate control, storage, movement and readiness of materials are central to delivery. Key Responsibilities Control materials efficiently across the full lifecycle from demand identification through to final issue, consumption and disposal. Manage materials in line with company procedures and project schedules. Maintain accurate material status records and keep project reporting information up to date. Coordinate the goods receipt process, including liaison with inspection activities where required. Investigate and resolve overage, shortage and damage issues in line with defined procedures. Allocate storage locations, ensure appropriate segregation of materials and maintain accurate labelling standards. Support pick list execution, bagging, tagging and shipment readiness activities. Monitor inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and support formal close-out. Prepare accurate manifests for onward shipment and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics movements. Support the control, redistribution and disposal of materials in line with project requirements. Qualifications & Experience Essential: SVQ/Standard grade education or equivalent. Essential: Demonstrable relevant experience and exposure in materials control or materials management. Essential: Thorough knowledge and practical application of materials management systems. Essential: Extensive working product knowledge of typical oil and gas brownfield materials, including piping, E&I and structural materials. Essential: Understanding of export and import controls, including Union Custom Code and export compliance relating to dual use. Essential: Good IT literacy.
