Job Description: This opportunity is suited to a technical procurement professional who can support the preparation of a major maintenance shutdown at a combined cycle gas turbine plant in Belgium. The Buyer – Major Maintenance Shutdown will play a key role in helping to prepare complex procurement activities well in advance of a planned 2027 overhaul. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a high-importance industrial project within a safety-focused and operationally demanding environment. Role Context: This role sits within the oil and gas procurement environment and supports the preparation of a major overhaul of a CCGT plant in Marchienne-au-Pont. The work is being delivered while the site remains operational and alongside ongoing maintenance, modifications and project activity. The Buyer – Major Maintenance Shutdown will interact with the site purchasing manager, the Shutdown Manager and the dedicated project team in a context where careful planning and safety alignment are essential. Key Responsibilities: Support procurement activities related to a major power plant shutdown. Define procurement requirements in collaboration with technical and maintenance stakeholders. Manage tendering processes, including preparation of RFQs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order placement. Coordinate with Global Procurement teams regarding existing framework agreements and preferred suppliers. Develop and maintain a qualified supplier base, including supplier sourcing, assessment, and qualification activities. Manage commercial negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery outcomes. Perform market analysis, benchmarking, and cost analysis to support purchasing strategies. Monitor supplier performance and resolve supplier-related issues and disputes. Ensure procurement activities align with shutdown preparation and execution schedules. Participate in project and shutdown meetings, providing procurement updates and recommendations. Support feasibility studies and procurement planning for additional maintenance and improvement projects. Track procurement progress and proactively identify potential risks impacting shutdown execution. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Experience in procurement or purchasing within an industrial, energy, process, or maintenance-related environment. Essential: Ability to define requirements, manage tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and support contract implementation. Essential: Experience working autonomously while coordinating with multiple project and site stakeholders. Essential: Ability to operate effectively in a safety-focused and operationally active site environment. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline. Areas of expertise: Purchasing, Supplier research and qualification, Procurement, Negotiation, Financial Analysis, Purchasing Strategy CMMS MAXIMO experience. Previous experience supporting maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, outages, or large-scale maintenance projects is highly desirable. Strong background in contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing. Fluent French and English is mandatory.
