Airswift is looking for a Material Engineer to work in a contractor position in Mexico City for an oil and gas company. Provide technical expertise for Material Technology, Material selection and Welding. Developing Performance Standards enabling Structural Integrity for critical structures and systems. Contribute to the continuous development of design basis and studies scope of work documents. Please note: Expatriate candidates must hold a visa for the USA or Mexico. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee, with a specific focus and sense of responsibility, the selection of materials by contractors and the development of material specifications. Provide input for tendering processes (Scope of Work/SoW, project requirements, etc.) and support the clarification of queries and the evaluation of proposals through to the RFA (Request for Award) stage. Implement and monitor the design verification process. Contribute to project risk workshops and track engineering actions related to risk mitigation measures. Contribute to the change management process and the development of operational plans, philosophies, procedures, manuals, etc. Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and other reviews related to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment). Identify and track technical qualification requirements (TQPs) and qualifications, as necessary. Provide input for schedule planning and cost estimates, paying special attention to material delivery and long-lead items (LLIs). Contribute to the preparation of relevant sections of decision-support packages. Ensure that lessons learned from previous projects and ongoing activities are captured and addressed. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Higher Education Advanced English is mandatory Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory/company requirements and international standards. Have understanding from platform and subsea pipeline projects through all phases. Possess in-depth knowledge of material assessment and selection including welding standards and methods. In-depth understanding of corrosion mechanisms and corrosion assessment. Specialized knowledge of local and international regulatory frameworks Experience in the design, manufacturing, and fabrication of subsea and offshore structures Please note: Expatriate candidates must hold a visa for the USA or Mexico.
