Airswift is seeking for Head of Project Engineering (Start-Up Assistance) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company. JOB PURPOSE Lead and manage the Start-Up Assistance (SUA) function for Company mega projects, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transition of LNG facilities from construction and commissioning into stable operations. The role is responsible for driving start-up readiness, providing technical assurance, and coordinating across engineering, construction, completions, commissioning, and operations teams to achieve flawless start-up execution in line with Company standards, HSE requirements, and project milestones. The Head of Project Engineering (Start-Up Assistance) ensures that all systems are fully prepared, risks are effectively managed, and plant performance meets design and operational expectations, enabling a seamless handover to Operations and sustained, reliable LNG production. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide leadership in the Company Onshore Project Safety Management System and conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures, always ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment. Primary focal point between Company Operations Expansion & Start-Up Team, Project Management Team (PMT) and Contractors for all Start-Up Assistance aspects, including coordination of Operation Readiness Plan (ORP) deliverables; Interim Operations; Reimbursable Start-Up Requests (RSR) and contractor provided labour, equipment, materials, tools, spares, and services; Vendors support; Licensors support, defect & warranty claim process, Performance Guarantee Testing, post-handover completion of exceptions; punch list, check sheets (E-ITRs). Lead the Start-Up Assistance (SUA) program to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant start up aligned with Company standards and project objectives. Drive overall Start-Up Assistance readiness by ensuring RSR resources are sourced and mobilized in a timely manner. Attend Operations Expansion and Start-Up daily work planning and prioritization meetings and coordinate PMT/Contractor discipline support as required to ensure prompt troubleshooting and issues resolution. Support issues resolution through coordination with the respective function managers to identify mitigation options and contingency plans. Coordinate and manage various action registers to ensure completion of tasks. With support from the Senior Operations Advisor, manage completion of the Operations Readiness Plan by ensuring assignment of all actions and monitoring completion of deliverables. Ensure seamless transition from project phase to Operations, supporting Final Handover and Provisional Acceptance. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or engineering. Ten (10) years’ experience in various project phases such as engineering, procurement, and construction, within large-scale commissioning projects in the Oil and Gas Industry, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies. Experience in start-up support to Operation. Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
