About the Project: Â
For the construction and commissioning of a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission system, we are seeking a versatile and experienced professional to cover the role of HVDC Preservation Inspector. This position ensures smooth and proper erection of sensitive HVDC equipment. Â
Working days: 06 days/week. Â
Role Overview: The HVDC Preservation Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) electrical equipment, components, and systems remain in optimal condition during the storage, installation, and commissioning phases on an offshore platform. This role focuses on preventing environmental degradation (corrosion, moisture, mechanical damage) and maintaining equipment integrity to meet strict reliability and safety standards. Â
Key Responsibilities: Â
⢠Execution of Preservation in PIMS: Execution of preservation in Project Information Management System (PIMS) software, Activate and deactivate preservation ITR for different phases closely coordination with PIMS ADMIN. Â
⢠Subcontractor Coordination: If required, Coordinate with Subcontractor for manpower to conduct any Active Preservation. Â
⢠Interface Management: Collaborate closely with Internal, External and other team for close alignment t execute Preservation. Â
⢠Reporting: Report Internal and External stakeholders for bi-weekly reporting on preservation. Â
⢠Preservation Planning: Execute and maintain the projectâs preservation management system in PIMS software for all HVDC components, including transformers, converter Â
valves, switchgear, and control systems. Â
⢠Routine Inspection: Conduct scheduled physical inspections of equipment to check for signs of moisture, corrosion, dust ingress, or physical damage as per the preservation procedure fed in PIMS software for the HVDC Equipment and HVDC Rooms. Â
⢠Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity) within electrical rooms and equipment enclosures, ensuring climate control systems (heaters, dehumidifiers) are operating within specified parameters. Â
⢠Equipment Maintenance: Follow preservation procedure to Perform âenergizedâ and âde-energizedâ maintenance tasks, including operating anti-condensation heaters, Â
rotating motors, and performing insulation resistance (megger) testing as per manufacturer guidelines. Â
⢠Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of all inspections, maintenance activities, and environmental readings. Report any non-conformities or potential risks to the Lead Engineer immediately. Â
⢠Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in strict accordance with offshore safety protocols, including High Voltage (HV) safety rules, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and site-specific PPE requirements. Â
⢠Coordination: Collaborate with installation teams and subcontractors to ensure that newly installed equipment is immediately brought under the site preservation regime. Â
Required Qualifications:
⢠Education: Technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
⢠Experience: Minimum of 3â5 years of experience in HV electrical maintenance, preferably within an offshore or heavy industrial environment.
⢠Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of HVDC technology, electrical switchgear, and power electronic components. Familiarity with standard electrical testing equipment (mustimeters, insulation testers, thermal imaging cameras).
⢠Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary crews and maintain high safety standards in a fast-paced construction environment.
⢠Safety Certifications: Relevant local safety certifications (e.g., WSH Supervisor training for Singapore sites), SSSC and specialized training in heavy lifting operations.
⢠Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematic drawings, and manufacturer preservation specifications
