Brunel is seeking an experienced
Blast & Paint Technician
to join a
Structural Remediation Team
supporting fixed plant maintenance activities at a Pilbara mine site.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for surface preparation, abrasive blasting, protective coating application and corrosion control activities on critical fixed plant infrastructure and equipment.
This is an
ongoing position
and is
not a temp-to-perm or backfill role
.

Please note that while the role is primarily dayshift, employees may be required to undertake up to one week of night shift on up to three occasions per year. Any night shift worked will be paid at the standard roster rate.
Perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation in accordance with Australian Standards and coating specifications.
Apply industrial protective coatings using airless spray, conventional spray, brush and roller methods.
Conduct corrosion control and maintenance painting on steel structures and fixed plant assets.
Maintain conveyors, crushers, screens, tanks, chutes, bins, pipework and associated infrastructure.
Identify coating defects, corrosion damage and remediation requirements.
Measure and record environmental conditions including humidity, surface temperature and dew point.
Conduct coating inspections including DFT and WFT measurements.
Interpret technical drawings, coating specifications and work instructions.
Complete shutdown and planned maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
Maintain blasting and painting equipment in a safe operating condition.
Ensure all work complies with company procedures, OEM requirements and Australian Standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving plant reliability and asset life.
Promote safe work practices and maintain high housekeeping standards.
