We are looking for a Senior Engineer FEA to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby . The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo. In this role, you will take a senior specialist position within mechanical and structural analysis, contributing advanced FEA competence to defense projects and supporting robust, safe, and well‑documented design decisions in a regulated environment. What will you be doing? Provide senior mechanical and structural finite element analysis (FEA) expertise for machine components and assemblies Acts as a technical authority within analysis, ensuring designs meet strength, fatigue, dynamic, and safety requirements for defense and serial production Contribute to the development and delivery of mechanical and structural detail concepts Develop optimal design solutions in close collaboration with the project team Perform and lead advanced mechanical FEA of machine components and structures Verify designs against mechanical, safety, and relevant regulatory requirements Define modelling strategies, load cases, and assumptions for complex analyses Produce, review, and maintain clear and traceable analysis reports supporting design decisions Support design reviews, qualification activities, and technical risk‑reduction initiatives Collaborate closely with mechanical design, systems, and manufacturing teams. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers within the analysis discipline We think you should have: Higher education within Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Typically 3+ years of experience with mechanical and structural FEA Strong core competence within structural mechanics, fatigue, dynamics, and machine components Experience with advanced FEA methodologies and tools (e.g. Abaqus or similar) A structured, analytical, and quality‑oriented working style Ability to communicate complex technical results clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken Experience from defense or a serial production environment is an advantage The role may involve projects where security clearance is required What we offer: At Aker Solutions we are committed to creating an enjoyable, rewarding, and engaging career where you can thrive.
