We are looking for a
Lead Engineer System
to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in
Tranby
. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo.
In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding system-level integrity across defense projects, ensuring that complex technical solutions are coherent, compliant, and fit for purpose in a regulated environment.
What will you be doing?
Lead and manage all system engineering activities in accordance with Aker Solutions’ engineering policies and governance framework
Define, maintain, and safeguard system architecture and overall technical integrity across projects
Translate customer, operational, and regulatory requirements into robust, compliant system solutions
Lead system level integration, verification, and validation activities across engineering disciplines
Ensure system documentation, configuration control, and compliance with applicable standards and defense requirements
Secure system performance in line with defined reliability, availability, and safety requirements
Act as the technical focal point across engineering disciplines, Project Management, and key stakeholders
Identify, manage, and mitigate system level and integration risks throughout the project lifecycle
We think you should have:
Higher education within engineering, science, or a related discipline
Solid understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle models, and requirements management
Experience working with complex, multidisciplinary technical systems, preferably in structured project environments
A structured and analytical mindset, with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, interfaces, and organizations
Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
Experience from defense or a serial production environment is an advantage
The role may involve projects where security clearance is required
