We are looking for a
Project Engineering Manager
to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in
Tranby
. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo.
In this role, you will lead and manage an engineering team, working at the intersection of technical disciplines, project management, and external stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
Lead and govern all engineering activities in small to medium‑sized projects in accordance with Aker Solutions’ Engineering Management System
Plan, execute, monitor, and close the engineering scope in close collaboration with the Project Manager
Mobilize, coordinate, and support multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, controls, and mechanical disciplines
Manage engineering risks, key technical decisions, and change control, ensuring alignment and required approvals
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and relevant regulatory and defense constraints through robust, integrated engineering solutions
Act as the technical focal point towards customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Report engineering status, progress, risks, and KPIs to the Project Manager
Capture and transfer lessons learned to support continuous improvement of engineering execution and ways of working
We think you should have:
Higher education within engineering, science, or a related discipline
Experience from engineering management within multidisciplinary development or delivery projects, preferably in environments with high pace and clear delivery expectations
Solid understanding of engineering governance, system integration, and technical risk management
Experience working according to structured engineering and project execution models
Strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different levels, both internally and externally
A structured, proactive, and solution oriented working style, with the ability to take ownership of engineering delivery
Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
Experience from a product delivery focused industry – defense or subsea is an advantage
The role may involve projects where security clearance is required
