Quantity Surveyor
for a leading engineering and energy industry client in
Singapore
.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing quantity remeasurement, variation claims, cost control, budgeting, and forecasting activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role will also provide commercial support to project and subcontract management teams to ensure effective contract administration and project cost performance.
Please note that employment pass or work pass sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants should have existing eligibility to work in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control project costs from project initiation through completion, providing accurate cost forecasts and financial reporting.
Prepare, evaluate, and manage quantity remeasurements, variation claims, and commercial submissions.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and material take-offs to verify quantities and identify cost impacts.
Perform quantity surveying activities across disciplines including Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Architectural, Coating, and Civil works.usd
Conduct site inspections to verify quantities, scope changes, and variation claim requirements.
Support project teams in assessing scope changes and their impact on project budgets and forecasts.
Prepare detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget performance analyses for project stakeholders.
Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and subcontract teams to ensure effective commercial management.
Assist in subcontract administration, claims evaluation, and contract management activities.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company commercial procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of quantity surveying experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
Demonstrated experience in cost control, remeasurement, variation management, and project commercial reporting.
Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform quantity take-offs across multiple disciplines.
Experience conducting site measurement and verification activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management/reporting systems.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Competencies
Commercial and contract management awareness.
Claims preparation and assessment knowledge.
Cost estimating and product costing experience.
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
Understanding of compliance and contractual obligations.
Ability to benchmark costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
