We are currently hiring for a Rig Manager. This position based in Kuwait onshore site-based drilling rigs. Purpose The Rig Manager is responsible to direct and control all operational functions of rig(s) under his supervision: including safety, drilling, moving, logistics (material + personnel) and maintenance; coordinate all phases of the rig’s operations in a safe, effective and efficient manner, including management of sub-contractors’ services at the rig side. To work closely with the Client’s Representative to ensure that our clients’ operational requirements are accomplished safely and efficiently. Minimum requirements Minimum 20+ years relevant experience in Oil & Gas and minimum of 10 years worked as Sr. Rig Manager in land deep He should hold have middle east experience and exposure. Should have valid Supervisory level Well Sharp/IWCF Well Control/Second Line Well Control Certification. Understanding of logistic processes man management and Project management capability drilling operations. Financial Responsibilities: Establish a cost conscious planning effort by frequently analyzing cost. Determine means of improving efficiency and reducing costs where possible, investigate and take corrective action when required. Assists in planning and coordinating major budget items and repairs to minimize downtime and provide cost effective means of maintaining company’s equipment to the highest standards and contractual requirements. QHSE Responsibilities: To lead through effective safety leadership by being personally responsible for administration and Implementation of the QHSEMS. To ensure a safe working environment without harm to persons or the environment. Implementing API Q2 & ISO 9001 standards in the department and ensure compliance with same. Operation : Ensure well programs and schedules are well known to the rig sides and adequate written instruction is given . Ensuring the Company’s RAMS program is utilized routinely at a high standard. Ensure Waste Management Plan is adhered to. Ensure that the Permit To Work system and other HSE management tools are used correctly. People Management : To take responsibility for overall staff to secure a motivated, disciplined and productive workforce, especially to be a good listener and reserve time to give feedback. Business Planning / Continuous Improvement / Organization Efficiency : Conducts pre-tour meetings with rig crews to communicate daily objectives, special instructions, safety precautions and training activities as required and anticipate/correct any problem. Review all Operational/Technical bulletins, communicate pertinent points to crew members and implement all directives as required. Record same. Supporting, promoting and actively participating in the Company’s CAP (Competency Assurance Program) process. Customer / Public Relations : Develop and maintain effective customer relationships. React prompt on client requirements with regard to material, equipment and personnel. Provide technical advice where needed and as required. Ensure in the same time line management approval as required Has to keep good communications with the client representatives and make sure misunderstanding or bad communication does not develop within the people working on the rig. QUALIFICATIONS Competence Assurance Program as TP/Driller completed PC literate in Microsoft Office Fluent written and spoken English Desirable: Technical school degree 2nd foreign language Financing course for non-financing functions Skills and knowledge Be knowledgeable of all BWD safety policies and procedures that pertain to your area of responsibility including firefighting, emergency equipment, lifesaving equipment and emergency response Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of BWD Complete in a reasonable time frame training requirements as listed in training matrix for the function People are our business worldwide Orion Group was founded in 1987 and is now one of the largest, independent, international recruitment companies.
