What does the job involve? Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the world’s largest offshore windfarm and being developed in 3 phases. The wind farm is located some 100-150 nautical miles east of South Shields, covering a total area of over 1500km2. During the operations phase, maintenance of the wind farm will be conducted from 4 Service Operations Vessels (SOVs) each equipped with a Daughter Craft (DC). The O&M Base including the warehouse for spare parts and consumables will be located at Port of Tyne, South Tyneside. Adjacent, will be located Equinor’s flagship UK Central Control Room and Equinor’s Renewable Operations Center. Equinor is the manager for Dogger Bank during the operations phase. For its Operation & Maintenance (O&M) organisation based from the Port of Tyne we are seeking to expand our team of technicians with various technical disciplines (electrical, mechanical, telecom/automation), working across scheduled maintenance plans for the wind turbine generators (WTG). Responsible for safe execution of operations and corrective maintenance across the asset, with a strong focus on fault response, system reliability, and uptime. Work includes troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems associated with offshore wind generation. Work is carried out on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, covering both day and night shifts. What will my tasks be? Within this position, your key tasks will be to: Carry out corrective maintenance and fault response, prioritised on system criticality and operational impact. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime. Raise clear, accurate defect notifications and maintenance records. Work in line with Electrical Safety Rules and site procedures at all times. Support optimisation of equipment performance and reliability. Coordinate with operations, planning, and offshore teams to deliver work efficiently. Provide technical input and oversight when working alongside contractors or OEM teams. Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and documentation. Work within OEM teams carrying out corrective maintenance on Haliade-X WTGs. Operate under OEM safety rules when working on turbine systems. Support fault finding, repair, and component replacement on WTGs. Participate in emergency response and first-line fault support. Lead or support toolbox talks, audits, and safety initiatives Support offshore logistics, planning, and stores when required Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and performance Provide support across day and night shifts to maintain 24/7 operational coverage of the wind farm. And for this specific position, we are also looking for: Proven technical, operational, and maintenance experience in electrical, instrumentation and/or mechanical systems within a heavy industrial environment (e.g. offshore wind, renewables, oil & gas, power generation, chemical or process plant operations). Must either hold, or be willing and capable of progressing to, 66kV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under Equinor Electrical Safety Rules. Must either hold, or be willing and capable of progressing to, Authorised Technician (AT) status with the OEM, alongside core role responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including single line diagrams and P&IDs. Ability to pass all required offshore medicals and mandatory safety training. Candidates must be able to work day and night shifts on a rotational offshore pattern. Fluent in spoken and written English.
