Inspector Coordinator (IC)
Primary Job Functions
The primary duty of the IC is to provide work direction and support for 3rd party inspector contractors. This individual is the communication link between the Basin Integrity Leads and 3rd party inspection services. The IC serves as a focal point to distribute, direct, and supervise field inspection works.
IC’s main responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following
Promote safety within area of specialty
Provide work directions and logistic support for field inspection activities
Identify inspection needs and define workforce plan with input from Basin Integrity Leads
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise field inspection works
Ensure all 3rd party Contractors’ crew members comply with safety policies and standards
Responsible for implementation and stewardship of the site inspection program according to provided scope of work
Ensure recommended approved procedures, NDE techniques, equipment, and qualified personnel are used for inspection activities
Reviews inspection reports for completeness and accuracy and ensures all inspection data is up-to-date. Identifies inconsistencies between work practices and written documentation.
Provide feedback to Basin Integrity Leads in regards with performance of contract inspection personnel
Report back to Basin Integrity Lead with inspection findings
Ensure equipment history and inspection records are updated in CMMS
Job Requirements
Strong knowledge of pressure vessel and tank inspection techniques, including NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT.
Strong knowledge of API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspection), API 653 (Tank Inspection), and API 570 (Piping Inspection)
Deep understanding of ASME, API, DOT regulations, and of engineering principles and practices.
Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, FSM, oracle, Meridiam) for managing inspection records and equipment history.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Project coordination and scheduling skills to manage inspection workflows and contractor activities.
Strong communication and reporting skills to interface with Basin Integrity Leads and contractors.
Safety leadership and ability to enforce company safety policies and standards.
Team supervision and contractor management experience.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Attention to details and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
6–10 years experience in oil & gas operations, with at least 3 years in inspection coordination or integrity management roles.
Demonstrated ability to work in field environments and coordinate inspection activities across multiple sites.
Willing and able to business travel (domestic/overseas) to project sites to provide various levels of support
Required Certifications
: API 653 – Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector
Preferred Certifications: API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector, API 570 – Piping Inspector, NDE Level II or III in UT, MT, PT, RT
Proficient with MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations
Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders

Description:
MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Promote safety within area of specialty
• Provide a very high level of quality expertise in inspection disciplines such as rotating equipment, instrumentation and electrical equipment, fixed equipment or Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) (e.g. NDE Level III for instance)
• Advise on all quality matters associated with procurement and installation of equipment
• Monitor production processes and perform surveillance activities in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Coordinate and oversee activities of 3rd party and/or Contractor source inspectors
• Perform surveillance activities, quality inspection activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Provide direction to suppliers on quality management. Review and evaluate Contractor’s and Suppliers’ quality documents for accuracy and adequacy
• Manage interfaces and coordination between Suppliers, Contractors, Quality Supervision and other Project Team disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Construction)
• Lead development and execution of detailed oversight program for high criticality activities or critical equipment inspections.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), final inspection release activities, review of supplier Quality Control documents and support closure of punch list items
• Keep Quality supervision updated
