Principal Technical Safety Engineer Basingstoke, Hampshire | Permanent | Hybrid Working (Up to 60% Remote) Join EniProgetti UK and help shape the future of global energy. EniProgetti UK, the engineering arm of global energy leader Eni, is looking to appoint a Principal Technical Safety Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of international projects spanning conventional energy developments alongside Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS), hydrogen and renewable energy initiatives. The Role As Principal Technical Safety Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across complex engineering projects, ensuring safe design principles are embedded throughout the project lifecycle. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, Eni Headquarters and international stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers and helping shape future technical standards. You'll take ownership of technical safety deliverables, support proposals, lead risk assessment activities and provide expert guidance on engineering standards and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities •    Lead Technical Safety activities on major international projects •    Deliver and review complex Technical Safety studies and calculations •    Provide specialist expertise in process safety and risk assessment •    Review and approve engineering deliverables •    Interface with Eni Headquarters, clients and joint venture partners •    Support commissioning, start-up and operational readiness activities •    Mentor and develop less experienced engineers •    Contribute to proposals, resource planning and departmental leadership About You We're looking for an experienced Technical Safety professional who combines strong technical capability with excellent leadership skills. You will ideally have: •    Degree in Chemical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline •    Chartered or working towards Chartered status •    Extensive experience delivering Technical Safety engineering on complex energy projects •    Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies including HAZID, HAZOP, QRA and consequence modelling •    Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams •    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills •    Previous experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, CCS, Hydrogen or similar process industries What's on Offer •    Permanent position with a global energy leader •    Hybrid SmartWorking policy (approximately 60% remote working) •    Modern offices in central Basingstoke with free parking and excellent rail links •    Opportunity to work on industry-leading energy transition projects •    Excellent career development within a global engineering organisation •    Collaborative and highly technical working environment If you're looking to play a leading role in delivering safe, innovative engineering solutions for the future of energy, we'd love to hear from you.
