Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Instrument Engineer, based in Aberdeen. This is as 12-month PAYE contract role.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and company HSES Procedures
Supports Instrument SECE degradation / threat management risk assessments and maintenance deferment risk assessments
Responsible for monitoring equipment/system performance initiating and ensuring corrective actions.
Responsible for discipline engineering and maintenance support to UK operations
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with company’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required
Provide discipline support to operated assets and project teams
Deliver maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout facility lifetime
Fully adhere to planning processes to ensure ‘right first time’ delivery of instrument workscopes
Responsible to provide budget input/scope for maintenance and modifications
Responsible for continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects
Review vendor workpacks to ensure compliance with performance standard requirements
Coordinate & robustly manage vendors to successfully deliver planned maintenance
Collaborate with key vendors to collectively problem solve/deliver complex scope
Raise TWMs where complex technical solutions and modifications are required
Provide an optimised preventive maintenance program, including detailed work packages
Responsible for equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up
Own management of change for non like-for-like instrument scopes
Mobilise offshore as and when required by business.
ER Allowance - The postholder may be required to join the emergency response rota should this become a requirement of the position
Experience & Qualifications:
Educated to engineering degree level or satisfactory equivalent e.g. HND/HNC plus preferable qualifications/experience and/or vocational certificates
Membership of professional body working towards Chartership preferred
Operational and engineering experience preferred
Developing relevant technical experience.
Offshore experience
Understanding of processes required to meet HSE objectives. Fully conversant with UK regulatory environment
Developing understanding of company’s Corporate and Local budget, maintenance and project management processes and tools
Self-driven. Strong personal leadership and drive toward teamwork. Ability to perform effectively within a strong peer group and to drive toward optimal business solutions
Good communication, influencing, negotiating and networking skills. Builds excellent relationships. Respected internally and externally
Acceptance of ambitious, yet realistic goals and targets, and consistently achieve these.
