Position Summary
The Geology Advisor provides expert geological interpretation, reservoir characterization, and development planning support for an oil and gas asset managed under an Integrated Asset Management (IAM) contract.
Job Duties
Under broad direction from the Subsurface Technical Manager:
Develop and apply advanced development geology techniques in support of the evaluation and development of potentially large, yet challenging oil and gas field development projects.
Accountable for ensuring robust geological understanding of the asset, integrating static and dynamic data to guide reservoir management, field development, and production optimization.
The Geology Advisor will support prospect evaluation work by providing validation of preexisting interpretations as well as creating new interpretations (e.g., structure maps, isopach maps, cross sections, annotated bubble maps, etc.)
Role includes data analysis, reservoir characterization and mapping, determination of reservoir rock and fluid properties, static uncertainty/risk management analysis, deterministic/probabilistic in-place hydrocarbon volumetric calculations, static modeling, reserves estimation, and other work related to reservoir understanding / development.
Lead the interpretation of geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and drilling data to develop robust static reservoir models. Integrating well log, core, seismic, and production data to define reservoir architecture, facies distribution, and structural framework.
Solid grounding in development geology and working knowledge of geologic operations, logging, directional drilling, petrophysics, geophysics, rock and core sampling and analysis, reservoir simulation and drilling & completions.
Understands the fundamentals of petroleum engineering, subsurface uncertainties, risks and technical issues associated with subsurface, wells and surface development opportunities.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify and implement production enhancement opportunities. Additionally, translates technical insights into actionable operational and development plans.
Be actively involved in technical engagements, present to and establish strong working relationships with senior management and key stakeholders

Present to and participate in internal and external reviews ensuring work deliverables are robust and fit-for-purpose.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced geoscientists within the asset team.
Promote the adoption of best practices, digital tools, and innovative techniques in geoscience.
Qualifications
Requires an undergraduate degree in Geoscience and a minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production roles which may include experience in development geology, static modeling, operations geology, field development planning etc.
Requires field development and reservoir management experience working directly (preferred) or indirectly on a producing field for an oil & gas operator
Extensive experience in clastic and/or carbonate reservoirs; exposure to mature or brownfield assets preferred
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications may be acquired through technical schools or equivalent related experience. Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Geology Advisor, Geology Advisor, Sr, and Technical Manager.
