About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Civil Quality Assurance Inspector
to join a major onshore construction project team. In this role, you will support quality assurance activities across large-scale infrastructure scopes, including marine facilities, metering areas, and high-voltage infrastructure.
Working closely with site construction teams, field engineers, contractors, and the company's project office, you will play a key role in ensuring quality requirements are met throughout construction, mechanical completion, and turnover. Key Responsibilities
Support daily site quality assurance activities and field inspections.
Collaborate with Field Engineers and construction teams to monitor quality performance.
Ensure work is executed in accordance with company quality plans, procedures, and specifications.
Review and approve contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and complete progressive quality sign-offs.
Review Material Test Reports (MTRs), inspection records, test reports, and other quality documentation.
Support Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective Action Request (CAR) processes.
Verify that contractor redlines, as-builts, and Management of Change documentation are maintained accurately.
Conduct inspections to confirm compliance with regulatory, company, and design requirements.
Review contractor QA/QC turnover packages to ensure compliance with document control requirements.
Participate in quality audits and support the closeout of audit findings.
Assist in identifying, documenting, and resolving quality issues through surveillance and review processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procedures, workflows, and quality practices.
Provide guidance and awareness training on quality requirements and work instructions.
Monitor receipt, inspection, storage, and documentation of owner-supplied materials and equipment.
Support preservation activities for project materials and equipment when required.
Assist with construction turnover, mechanical completion, and project closeout activities.
Perform additional project-related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum
10 years of experience
in construction quality assurance and/or quality control roles.
Strong understanding of construction execution, inspection, and testing processes.
Demonstrated experience reviewing quality documentation, inspection records, and contractor deliverables.
Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and project turnover interfaces.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Education in
Civil Engineering
,
Civil Engineering Technology
, or a related discipline.
Experience working on large industrial, energy, LNG, or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including CSA requirements.
Experience in:
Piling and foundation installation
Concrete forming and placement
Concrete testing and quality monitoring
Construction turnover and mechanical completion processes
Experience supporting quality audits, surveillance programs, and contractor quality management systems.
