Job Summary Join ConocoPhillips as an Operations Technician – Production and play a key role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of one of Australia's leading LNG facilities on Curtis Island, Gladstone. Position Overview About Us ConocoPhillips’ Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers. About the Role The Operations Technician will conduct key scheduled and unplanned operational activities in various focal specific roles as prioritised by business needs. Contributing positively to assuring best practices and operational excellence while developing and enhancing their skill sets and knowledge to ensure efficiency and functional flexibility for the benefit of the facilities operation. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, this role will collaborate with peer area operators to provide resolution for technical issues within their accountability boundaries. This position will work a continuous shift roster, based on APLNG Facility Curtis Island. With a requirement to work a Monday to Friday work schedule while conducting the events planning and safe systems of work focal activities, as directed. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Facility surveillance and optimisation of process conditions and parameters Contribute to operations cost efficiency drivers within level of influence Compliance to all operating procedures, proactively updated revisions to reflect best practice and learning outcomes Report all equipment defects and raising quality SAP notifications accordingly. Ensure plant is operated within POL, EODs and process operational guidelines (POG) Communicate and deliver consistent, quality feedback during shift handovers Seek and identifying areas of continuous improvement Assist with process trouble shooting and defect eliminate processes Perform functional focal point roles for designated periods as directed by the Operations Superintendent Planning, development and execution of Rate Reductions and other key events (Shutdowns) Review, population and management of the EOD’s You will bring to the role Cultural alignment with ConocoPhillips’ SPIRIT Values. Year 10 education or equivalent. Experience working within a team-based environment. Ability to work a 24/7 permanent rotating shift roster. Basic computer literacy, including SAP experience.
