What role you will play in our team
This Plant Modification Design Lead will lead Engineering management for various small-scale Brownfield projects for ExxonMobil assets across the globe. Work location is Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
What you will do
The key responsibilities for the Design Lead-Plant Modifications will be:
Lead the Design and Engineering development for portfolio of small-scale brownfield projects.
Manage and steward Mult-disciplinary engineering design of site led small projects.
Accountable to deliver engineering packages to site for procurement and construction by working closely with Contractor, Site team and other engineering disciplines.
Lead and steward Management of Change including coordinating with other disciplines and operations, conducting risk reviews when appropriate, and updating documentation.
Participate/lead design reviews, Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, 3D Model Reviews, vendor bid evaluations, and project readiness reviews.
Work closely with the Engineering contractor in reviewing the proposals, developing the engineering cost and Schedule, and submitting it to site.
Manage, steward & report project engineering cost and Schedule
Lead/develop design basis and project design scope for detail engineering
Act as the Process/Facilities Lead for the process scope of the projects providing technical guidance to the contractor
Develop/update PFD, P&IDs, C&E and Control Narratives for project and possess interdisciplinary knowledge Provide coaching and mentoring to early career engineers
About you
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical/petroleum or mechanical engineering from a recognized university
Minimum of 5 years of work experience within the oil and gas industry (Upstream, Refining, or Petrochemical) in Brownfield Projects and/or Technical Services roles.
Should possess knowledge of other discipline designs on a high-level. Experience of working with other engineering disciplines to progress the project design & engineering
Shall be able to independently lead multi-disciplinary small-scale projects and influence the Contractor and other discipline teams.
Experience and competency in various oil and Gas Industry Process Design and Process Safety standards.
Strong interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software program.
Willing to work in shifts (1.30 PM – 10.30 PM IST) or (9:00 AM -6:00 PM IST)
Willing to work full-time from Bengaluru based office location
Authorization to work in India.
Willing and able to travel nationally and/or internationally as required
Tool proficiency: Aspen Hysys/HTRI/DNV PHAST/FLACS/Flarenet/Flaresim/Flarenet/PHA pro/MS Projects/Hydraulic analysis tool
