Shaanxi, China Job Family Group: Finance Worker Type: Regular (FTC) (Fixed Term) Posting Start Date: July 23, 2026 Business Unit: Finance Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: What’s the role As Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering accurate accounting, reporting and financial processes. You will work across multiple interfaces, bring curiosity and ownership to problem solving, and help the team make quality decisions through reliable financial insight. This fixed-term role will also support finance activities connected with the later stage of the project lifecycle, including preparation for future close-out activities where required. What you’ll be doing Deliver finance activities related to cost recovery, production sharing and partner billing, including calculations, supporting documentation, stakeholder engagement, accounting and reporting. Support accounting and bookkeeping for the joint venture account, working with Shell Finance Operations and partner finance teams to help ensure timely, controlled and accurate reporting. Coordinate cash management activities with relevant finance teams, helping ensure funding and receivables are managed in line with agreed plans and controls. Support business performance management by preparing clear, fit-for-purpose financial analysis and reporting that help leaders understand cost performance, risks and opportunities. Bring a learner mindset to change by working with Shell and partner teams to review, improve and implement finance processes in support of evolving business needs. Support finance records management and continuous improvement of documentation practices, in line with applicable requirements and Shell standards. Contribute to project close-out preparation and other finance activities relevant to the role. Take on other reasonable assignments in support of team and business priorities. What you bring A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, with relevant experience in finance, accounting or business performance. A strong sense of ownership, curiosity and responsibility, with the ability to work accurately, manage priorities and follow through on commitments. Strong accounting and reporting capability, with confidence in using finance systems, office applications and data analysis tools. Good stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures and partner interfaces. Good communication skills in Chinese and English, including the ability to prepare clear business communications and finance-related documents. Experience in upstream energy, joint venture finance or working with external partners would be an advantage.
