Job Summary: The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical equipment at customer sites. This role performs inspections, diagnostic testing, data collection, and failure analysis on equipment such as motors, generators, pumps, drives, transformers, and control systems. The position requires local and regional travel to support customer needs and overtime as required. Key Responsibilities: Conduct field installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities on customer equipment. Operate and maintain testing, monitoring, and measurement instruments appropriate to the assigned task. Gather and document operational and performance data during inspections and service activities. Investigate equipment malfunctions and identify probable root causes of failures or performance issues. Communicate material, component, or resource requirements to the Service Manager or Project Coordinator to ensure timely job completion. Perform post-service inspections, testing, and verification procedures to confirm proper equipment operation. Complete detailed service reports, inspection records, measurements, photographs, and supporting documentation for submission upon project completion. Maintain compliance with all company and customer-site safety policies and procedures. Support emergency service requests and scheduled maintenance activities as required. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, or field service work on industrial electrical and/or mechanical equipment; or completion of a recognized technical, military, or industry-related training program. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Demonstrated ability to use electrical and mechanical diagnostic instruments, data collection tools, and testing equipment. Experience interpreting technical documentation, schematics, manuals, and equipment specifications. Required Skills & Competencies: Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of workplace safety practices and commitment to maintaining safe working conditions. Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees, supervisors, and customers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting service activities. Dependable attendance and reliability. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Technical certificate, vocational training, or Associate degree in an electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or related discipline preferred.
