Job Purpose The Scaffolding Specialist is responsible for the safe planning, erection, inspection, maintenance, and dismantling of scaffolding systems to support ROO Integrated Projects activities under EPCm Contract . This role ensures compliance with applicable with International and ROO standards, specifications, and safety regulations while optimizing scaffold efficiency and project schedules within an engineering, procurement, and construction framework. Job Responsibilities Plan and supervise scaffold activities: Assess engineering drawings and method statements to determine scaffold type, layout, loads, and access requirements; develop task plans and risk assessments. Erection & dismantling: Lead on-site erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding structures in accordance with applicable standards and project procedures. Inspection & quality control: Conduct routine inspections for stability, safety, and compliance; ensure tagging (e.g., safe/unsafe), maintenance, and corrective actions are documented. Safety & compliance: Enforce site safety rules, use of PPE, and permit-to-work processes; coordinate with HSE for incident reporting and near-miss investigations. Material management: Manage scaffolding materials, accessories, and consumables; ensure traceability, storage, and return of equipment. Coordination & communication: Liaise with construction supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to align scaffold activities with project milestones and work plans within Brown Field Projects environment. Problem solving: Identify and resolve technical issues related to scaffold design, load limits, or access constraints; recommend temporary works when necessary. Documentation: Maintain accurate records including daily logs, inspection reports, load calculations, drawings (as-builts), and compliance certifications. Training & mentorship Provide on-site coaching to scaffold teams, ensuring proper techniques and safety practices are understood and followed. Contribute to the development of local workforce capabilities by identifying training needs and delivering hands-on guidance. Support ROO’s long-term localization strategy by fostering knowledge transfer, promoting sustainable skill development, and preparing local personnel for future leadership roles within scaffolding operations.. Continuous improvement: Propose and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Technical Skills Scaffold Systems Knowledge: Experience with common systems (e.g., tube-and-couple, cuplock, frame/scaffold boards) and associated components; ability to tailor solutions to Support ROO project requirements. Engineering & Load Calculations: Interpret engineering drawings and perform basic structural load assessments and stability checks; competence in applying temporary works principles within ROO M&E Projects framework. Standards & Codes: Familiarity with international and regional scaffolding standards (e.g., OSHA/EN/ISO equivalents) and client-specific procedures; awareness of project-specific QA/QC requirements. Inspection & Testing: Proficiency in scaffold inspections, tagging, acceptance criteria, and non-destructive testing basics as applicable to scaffolding of ROO M&E Projects. Tools & Equipment: Proficiency with rigging gear, restraint systems, access towers, and fall protection equipment; ability to select appropriate equipment for complex job sites. Quality & Documentation: Strong documentation skills, including daily logs, checklists, load calculations, drawings (as-builts), and compliance certifications; use of document control practices. Software (optional): Basic proficiency in drawing review tools, BIM coordination concepts, or project management software as used on site. Soft Skills Leadership & Team Management: Lead a diverse crew, delegate tasks, and maintain morale on demanding sites. Communication: Clear, concise communication with supervisors, engineers, and field personnel; effective reporting and escalation when needed.
