Job Title: Business Development Manager Duration: Long Term Contract Location: South Africa (Remote) Start Date: ASAP Account Manager: Anthony Hughes This opportunity sits within a growing engineering and procurement company delivering steel products, equipment, and project solutions to the oil & gas and energy sectors. The role offers exposure to international markets and a strong commercial focus across EPC contractors, operators, engineering solutions, and procurement services. This position will play an important part in supporting revenue growth, tender activity, and market expansion across key regions. Key Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the oil & gas and energy sectors. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including operators, EPC contractors, and procurement teams. Promote engineering solutions, procurement services, and the supply of steel products and equipment. Monitor market trends, upcoming projects, and tender opportunities. Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals. Negotiate contracts and support the successful close of business opportunities. Work closely with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to support successful project delivery. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings. Support strategic expansion into international markets including North Europe, Africa, and Asia. Must-Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. 5–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the oil & gas or energy sector. Proven experience working with engineering, procurement, or EPC companies. Strong understanding of the oil & gas project lifecycle, including upstream, midstream, and downstream activities. Established network within oil & gas operators and EPC contractors. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently. Strong strategic thinking, market awareness, stakeholder management, commercial acumen, and problem-solving capability. Results-driven approach with focus on revenue growth, pipeline development, tender success, and client retention. Nice-to-Have: Familiarity with steel products, forging, piping systems, or industrial equipment. Experience in international markets. Knowledge of industry standards including API, ASTM, and ISO.
