The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Technician II to join our Quality & Continuous Improvement team on the Pitman Night Shift (12-hour rotation, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
In this advanced quality role, you will be pivotal in ensuring our production lines maintain strict compliance, zero-defect standards, and continuous process optimization.
From conducting line-side testing and root-cause analysis to compiling statistical quality data, you’ll serve as the primary safeguard for product excellence and manufacturing reliability.
What You’ll Do
In-Process Quality Assurance:
Perform quality controls and line testing on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products according to Work Instructions (WIs) and legal/industry standards.
Inspect & Verify:
Review engineering drawings, radiographs, and blueprints to evaluate output samples; verify equipment calibration and discard tools or components that fail to meet standards.
Root Cause & Continuous Improvement:
Investigate product defects and scrap causes, collect statistical quality data, propose process/recipe enhancements, and refine Work Instructions to minimize waste.
Data & Reporting:
Maintain accurate inspection records, log quality database entries, compile statistical analysis, and issue hourly status reports to management.
Cross-Functional Coaching:
Support and train production staff on quality control measures, standards, and Work Instructions to foster a culture of product excellence.
What You Bring
Experience & Expertise
Technical manufacturing experience in a quality control, inspection, or continuous improvement role.
Previous experience in photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of problem-solving techniques, statistical data collection, and root-cause analysis methods.
Skills & Aptitude
High proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and statistical software packages.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, radiographs, and detailed Work Instructions.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and self-management skills; comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight as well as in a collaborative team setting.
Physical & Shift Requirements
Ability to work the Pitman Night Shift (rotating 12-hour shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed).
Capable of standing/moving across the production floor for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and participate in team lifts up to 50–60 lbs.
