Survey Field Specialist
The Survey Field Specialist is responsible for executing directional survey operations utilizing Gyro and Measurement While Drilling (MWD) technologies to deliver accurate wellbore positioning data to customers. The role requires a strong understanding of surveying principles, field operations, quality assurance standards, and HSE requirements. The Survey Field Specialist ensures the safe deployment, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of survey equipment while providing high-quality survey data and technical support to clients.
Responsibilities:
Execute Gyro and/or MWD survey operations in accordance with SLB and customer requirements.
Prepare, test, calibrate, deploy, and retrieve survey tools and associated equipment.
Acquire, process, validate, and report survey data to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Utilize survey software and digital platforms to generate reports and wellbore positioning information.
Perform preventive maintenance and functional testing of tools and equipment.
Troubleshoot survey equipment and resolve operational issues in the field.
Present survey results and technical information to customers at the wellsite.
Complete job documentation, including daily reports, job tickets, and end-of-well reports.
Maintain compliance with SLB quality standards, HSE requirements, and client procedures.
Experiences and exposures:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Gyro Surveying, MWD, Directional Drilling, Wellbore Positioning, or related drilling services.
Exposure to land and/or offshore drilling operations.
Knowledge of survey acquisition, quality control, and wellbore positioning principles.
Familiarity with Gyro and MWD technologies, survey software, and digital field systems.
Experience using data acquisition and reporting applications.
Exposure to real-time drilling operations and customer-facing field environments.
Ability to work independently in remote and challenging operational settings.
Experience operating within multidisciplinary energy services environments.
Strong commitment to HSE, service quality, and operational excellence.
Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure in dynamic field operations.
