Automation Analyst (Finance) Duration: Initially 6 months contract Location: Houston, TX Schedule: 5/40 Schedule Position Overview This Automation Analyst (Finance) opportunity is suited to a technically strong professional with expertise in finance and accounting automation. The role focuses on reviewing, improving, and modernising workflow automation supporting core financial processes within a large and complex business environment. This Financial Analyst III position offers the chance to contribute to scalable, secure, and efficient process improvement while supporting governance, compliance, and operational effectiveness. This role will also involve collaboration with finance stakeholders to strengthen automation capability and process visibility. Role Context This position sits within a finance and accounting environment, supporting the modernisation of automation across core financial processes. The role is based within a large global energy business with broad operational reach and a significant employee population. This opportunity will involve working closely with finance leadership, controllers, analysts, and internal operational teams in a structured and compliance-focused setting. Key Responsibilities Review existing finance and accounting workflows and applications to assess effectiveness, identify gaps, and highlight opportunities for improvement. Document current processes, data flows, and dependencies, and produce a prioritised roadmap for automation modernisation. Refactor and optimise workflow automations that support financial processes, with a focus on security, scalability, and efficiency. Develop new automation solutions and data synchronisation processes to improve consistency and visibility across connected finance systems. Support the implementation of standards, governance, documentation, and security controls aligned with financial compliance requirements. Create playbooks and deliver training sessions to help finance users and internal teams strengthen automation knowledge and best practice adoption. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Deep expertise in Power Automate. Essential: Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics. Essential: Experience with Model-Driven Apps. Essential: Experience working with SAP integrations. Essential: Strong understanding of finance and accounting automation processes. Essential: Ability to assess, redesign, and govern workflow automation in a compliance-focused environment. Essential: Experience developing documentation, standards, and governance approaches for automation. Essential: Ability to deliver training and knowledge transfer to finance and operational teams.
