About the Opportunity A leading engineering and consulting organization supporting the power and energy is seeking Commissioning Engineers (Levels I, II & III) to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on data center projects throughout the United States.
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting electrical power systems and equipment while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Execute commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover activities for electrical power systems and equipment.
Develop and perform commissioning procedures, test plans, and documentation.
Troubleshoot technical issues and support system energization activities.
Coordinate commissioning activities with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
Support project schedules, budgets, and commissioning deliverables.
Lead field testing activities and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and project documentation.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers (Level III).
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Experience
Commissioning Engineer I
1-3 years of related engineering or commissioning experience.
Commissioning Engineer II
3+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems engineering.
FE certification preferred. [
Commissioning Engineer III
7+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, startup, or power systems engineering.
PE license preferred.
Preferred Experience
Commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting of utility, industrial, generation, transmission, distribution, or substation systems.
Protective relays, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, SCADA systems, and associated equipment.
Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NETA, NFPA 70E, NESC, and related standards.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively
